HIIT Mode
The workout that levels up with you
3Z Incursion isn’t just a rhythm game — it’s a structured fitness system. HIIT Mode turns every session into a real high-intensity interval workout that automatically adapts as you get stronger.
Two modes
Solo HIIT vs Tracked HIIT
You set the intervals. The game follows them. No tracking, no adaptation — just your music, your timer, and your chosen difficulty cycling high and low for the duration of your session.
The full structured system. Defined session length, three-phase workout structure, and an adaptive algorithm that monitors your accuracy over time and adjusts your workout when you’ve earned it.
Structure
How a tracked session works
Warm Up
. Beginner
Starts every session at beginner difficulty. Gets your body moving and your timing calibrated before the real work begins.
The Work
... Your Level
Cycles between your current high difficulty and beginner recovery intervals. Repeats for the bulk of your session duration
Cool Down
. Beginner
Returns to beginner difficulty to bring your heart rate down and end the session on a controlled note.
The adaptive progression system
The tracked HIIT system doesn’t just record your sessions — it acts on them. Here’s how the progression loop works:
1
You complete tracked HIIT sessions. Your slash accuracy percentage is recorded at the end of each one.
2
The system monitors your accuracy over a rolling window of sessions. If you consistently hit above the accuracy threshold across the required number of sessions, you’ve earned an upgrade.
3
The system automatically adjusts your workout — either by adjusting the duration of your low/high intensity intervals, or by changing up your high difficulty level.
4
You keep working at the new level until your accuracy confirms you’re ready for the next progression. The system never advances you before you’ve earned it.
Questions
Common questions
Yes — both Solo and Tracked HIIT work with music files on your Quest device. Load a single song or build a playlist long enough to cover your target session duration. The game handles the interval timing on top of whatever is playing.
Nothing resets. The system tracks your accuracy over a rolling window of completed sessions. Missing sessions just means the window takes longer to fill — it doesn’t penalize you or drop your difficulty level.
Yes. The adaptive system handles automatic progression but you always have manual control over your starting difficulty level. If you want to bump yourself up ahead of the system, or dial back after a long break, you can do that directly in the settings.
For tracked HIIT, 15–30 minutes is the recommended range. Shorter than 15 minutes doesn’t allow enough work phase intervals to be meaningful. Longer than 30 minutes increases the risk of injury and has diminishing returns.
HIIT-style interval training is one of the most time-efficient cardio formats documented in exercise science. Add dual-arm slashing, ducking, and side-stepping on top of an interval structure and you’re getting genuine full-body cardio in a format that doesn’t feel like exercise. That’s the whole point.
