It’s a long‑view system – one that learns from your previous HIIT workouts and uses that information to shape your next one. Instead of reacting on the fly, it builds a profile over time, adjusting intensity based on how you’ve been performing across sessions.

This matters because HIIT is fundamentally about structured highs and lows. High‑intensity segments typically aim for 80–90% HRR, while low‑intensity segments target 40–50% HRR to promote recovery. Without access to external heart‑rate sensors, smart watches, or fitness trackers, a standalone VR headset can’t measure HRR directly. And while research exists on using micro head movements to estimate heart rate, those methods only work when sitting still – which is obviously unusable for a game built around swinging swords, dodging enemies, and moving continuously.

So we built our own system.

Adaptive scaling analyzes your past HIIT sessions: how consistently you hit enemies, how quickly you respond, how your performance changes across highs and lows, and how fatigue shows up in your timing. It uses those patterns to adjust the intensity of future workouts. If your previous sessions show strong performance, the next workout may tighten gaps or increase enemy density. If your sessions show fatigue or inconsistency, the next workout may ease pacing or extend recovery windows.

The key is that each workout informs the next, creating a progression that feels personal without requiring you to configure anything manually. Beginners get supportive pacing. Intermediate players get steady challenge. Advanced players get pushed. And everyone gets a workout that evolves with them.
